R5 Backfocus Issue regardless of lens?

I picked up an R5 a few months ago. I'm noticing that in a lot of my photos, the background seems to be more in focus than my actual focus point. I primarily use sigma lenses, so I'm using a canon control ring adapter for EF-EOS R. Regardless of the lens I use, I've been noticing this back focus issue. Has anyone else experienced this? I'll attach an example below.

Here is the full photo, raw and unedited:

Here is a photo of the image on my camera with the AF point highlighted. This image's focus point was set to the subjects face:

Zoomed it, it appears that the building is more in focus than the subjects face is:

Granted, I was at a relatively high AF (7.1 as I wanted more of the scene in focus) but the subject should have still been in focus.

My settings were:

ISO 500 (also seems to have quite a bit of noise for only iso 500)

24mm

f7.1

1/500 sec

Shot with Canon R5 and Sigma 24-70 f2.8.
