Hi
I'm looking for a T3i lens for underwater photography with Equinox housing.
I'm a newby for underwater photography and would appreciate some ideas for type of lens to get (wide angle?....
Thank you very much!

Is this for diving or snorkeling? And what model underwater housing do you have? You usually have to buy a port to match the lens you intend to use. If it's for diving how experienced are you? You need to master your buoyancy before getting serious about underwater photography.

cicopo
I'm an experienced diver who is just getting into UW photography.
The best starting option that I found so far is the Equinox housing.
The dome/port is adjusted depending of the type of lens I'm getting.
Thank your for your help/advice

I tried to find info on that housing & came up blank. Got a web site link? I'm a diver & have done quite a bit of photography but using a G9 & dual strobes. This guy came up under me last month knocking my camera out of it's way while (I suspect) looking for a hand out that might have been speared.

That housing seems to more dedicated to shooting video than stills. Is that your intended use?

If your main interest is video here's the link to the video section of Scubaboard & there's even a section for Equinox help.

I think you'll get some very good help there vs here. Also if you're serious about using this for Caribbean diving get the recommended red filter, it makes a big difference.

Thank you for steering me to the right direction!

You're welcome. Hope you get some great dive videos. Here's a link to some videos shot by a friend of mine who uses natural light & a red filter.
