EOS R5 Mark II shutter won't release and stays on even when switched off

Hello,

My firmware version is 1.0.1 and the camera won't release shutter on its first longish shoot (45 mins) out of which most was photo with 2 or min long video clips. Just 1 or two. The camera was on single shot mode all the time.

After that, the camera started behaving crazy, With touch screen working sometimes and not at other times. The power remains on even when switched off (the red light that shows Card activity was off) Battery needed to be pulled. Even with memory card door open, it won't still turn off and no alarm sound.

So far I have done several factory rests, swapped lenses, batteries and cards. No change.

My camera is in warranty and I have raised the issue with Canon support. I want to try and avoid sending for service if possible.

Can anyone help me. I would hate for support to open up a brand new camera if at all possible.

Is there a way to roll back to older firmware? Or a deeper factory reset?

Send it to Canon for testing. Some third party lenses and mount adapters have been known to be associated with the behaviors you described.

Thank you for the response. I do not have any thirdparty lenses or adaptors.

The only thirdparty items were a godox trigger with godox v1 pro and ad 200 pro off camera flash.

I have reached out to Canon for support. Hopefully they are able to fix it without opening the Camera.

What isn't clear to me.  If you remove the 3rd party accessories, does the camera behave normally?

No it doesn't. It is currently unusable even with no accessories. Canon asked me to send it in to the local service partner.
