EOS R5 Mark II Eye detection disabled when using magnifier

Hi, My first post- I have an R5 II

I am using a 100 -500 lens for birds , when the birds are hidden in branches I have taken to using the magnifier, and using manual focus however it would be useful to use eye detection which appears to disabled when using the magnifier, any thoughts on how to use the eye detection when using the magnifier much appreciated.

Greetings,

It's true, eye tracking is disabled on the R5 Mark II when using the magnifier in live view.  Manual focus is your option if you're going to use the magnifier.

If you're not using the magnifier, make sure the focus mode switch is set correctly for the set FL.  This is not a magic fix but will help the lens acquire focus more quickly.

See page 7.

Also look on your custom functions menu on the camera for Lens drive when AF impossible.  This is on AF menu tab 4.

Also not a magic fix but may help.  😉
