Hi, several methods are available. First look in the 7D menu, and the third icon from the right, or third yellow icon, last entry shows the current firmware in the camera. Also when you use the software supplied, Digital Photo professional will show the firmware used by your camera for any shot just taken. Canon web site list the latest FW available.
