70 D Audio Quit Recording

I have a new 70 D. I have my sound recording enabled and was able to record before and now it won't. I have tried it in several different modes from totally auto to "creative" modes.

Anyone have any ideas of what to try next short of throwing it at the wall? ; )

Try an external microphone and see if that works .

So...I tried that and I can record audio with an external mic, but not the camera mic. Oddly, it worked before I used the external mic with it and now it won't. Like there is an internal setting that thinks there is still an external mic attached.

Any thoughts?

I can't think of any setting that would prevent the built-in Mic from recording but still let the external Mic work.  I suspect that your built-in Mic has somehow failed.

Thank you! I think so too. I am sending it out for repair. Just got off the phone with tech support and they think it sounds like it failed too.
