Have a Canon 60D and relatively new to DSL's. My manual says that there's a silent format which offers 3 different camera click sounds,1,2 and 3 with 3 being normal. However when I try to make it quieter, it seems to be random. The manual really doesn't give much help at all.

Hi jaymack!
Thanks for posting.
When using Silent Shooting, the noise is not completely silenced. There is still a strong click of the shutter. However, the action is slowed quite a bit, as well as that of the mirror, reducing the overall sound level.
