Which Mark III? A 5D Mk III or a 1D Mk III?

Really doesn't matter, though, as neither will work with a EF-S lens.

And although it's a moot point, since it's an EF-S lens, your question makes me wonder what you think it is to be an "L lens", and why the camera body would affect that.  Just things to consider before looking to purchase upper end camera bodies or L glass.
