Hi guys, is the EF 24-70 f2.8 L i a good buy in 2024?

It is if it works for what you need. Any lens no matter how old is always a good as it ever was (unless obliviously damaged). The advent of newer models does not dimmish the qualities of the previous models as a lot of people think. I used one for a very long time and it performed fine.

Thank you for your response. In terms of image stability or lack thereof in version 1 as opposed to the version 2, is there a big difference?

I am a person that is not crazy about other peoples reviews. I rather prefer my own findings and experiences. If you must Ken Rockwell is one of the better ones.
however my own experience owning both at the same time the difference is little and marginal. I also own the 28-70mm f2.8L and thought it might be the better of the three. But again marginal difference.

I shot lots of weddings. A whole lot! The 24-70mm is a mainstay of wedding photography.
