Got a Canon R10+18-150mm kit as beginner, and bought myself another 50mm f.18 for portrait & close shots. Recently got a 24mm f1.8 Macro lens as a gift, and wonder if this lens can 100% replace my 50mm for close up portrait/food shots. Due to the crop ratio of 1.6x, I feel the 50mm sometimes are too zoomed in when taking portraits on my R10. Plus my camera bag is small, so I can only take 1 camera+1 lens with me at same time. Haven't got time to take any shots with the new 24mm yet.

Greetings,
I see you understand the equivalent field of view based on the crop ratio introduced using a full frame lens on an aps-c-based camera.
The 24mm will give an equivalent field of view of approximately 38 mm. The 50 will give an equivalent field of view of 80 mm.
For portraiture 85 to 135mm is standard. For food my preference would be 35 to 50 mm. I don't know if I would discard the 50, but it may be a little less useful than the 24 on your body in these situations. It will provide a little more flexibility.
