My current line up is the 50 1.8, 24-105 F4 and the 70-200 F2.8. I’m a hobbyist but do some studio shots and portraits of my friends/family, and I much rather prefer using the 70-200 because of the image quality. Even at the same focal length and aperture, the 70-200 just seems to render much better images. I figure the the 24-70 would be on par in terms of image quality with the bigger zoom so I can easily use it in tighter spaces or small gatherings/events (baby showers, kids birthdays, etc.). Body is an EOS R.
Do you recommend the upgrade, or have I bought into Canons markets a bit too much?

Greetings,
Unfortunately, you just missed a fantastic sale on this lens refurbished.

However, a brand new copy is temporarily back ordered, but available at a deep discount.

This is still a great deal on a fantastic lens. The 24-70 is slightly sharper than the 24-105. In your case, the real benefit of this lens upgrade will be its constant. f2.8 aperture. It will slot in perfectly below your 70-200 f2.8.
I prefer it over the 28-70 f2 due to is smaller size and weight.
