Trouble Using Prefocus Setting EF600 f/4 USM III and Canon R5 Mk II

I am trying to set the prefocus setting on the lens, after I set the focus and get the confirmation beep, when I turn the playback ring on the lens the camera goes into manual focus on the camera vs. bringing the focus point back to what I set.   Can anyone offer some guidance on this?

Hi @jonathonisola I believe focus preset is NOT available when adapting older EF lenses to the EOS R series. That lens uses an electronic focus ring so the camera switching to MF if you need focus preset. So it’s not available and that’s the camera’s signal to you that the lens has power for the electronic MF ring to work. Older DSLRs released prior to 2011 & all EOS 35mm film bodies also have the same limitation too.
