Re, Lens of the Week: Would you keep your 24-105 if . . .

Wow, everybody, the 24-105 photos shared for LOTW are incredible! I've often thought of getting one of those lenses, but never have. Probably because I have too many other lenses already. Question to those of you who own one and also either own or want other lenses in the focal length range--maybe a 24-70 f/2.8 or a collection of fast primes: Is the 24-105 f/4 still a keeper, or is it more of a "if I could only have one lens" thing?

Hi and welcome:

It took me a bit of a search to figure out what the context for your reference to LOTW  - you will have to forgive us if we are ignorant, but not all of us use Reddit!  All that aside...
Are you asking for yourself, or just starting a general survey?  If it is the former, we can provide far more relevant information if you can tell us -
What body or bodies are you using?
What subjects do you primarily shoot to consider this focal range?
Since you are focused on the 24-105, what specific version are you considering?
What do you produce - social media images, digital display, prints (if so what size)?
What is your budget?

We can all wax lyrical about what we prefer but that is not going to help your situation and is in danger of become a click-bait exercise, which I am sure you are not seeking.  So, if you can provide that context we can zero in on what you need in terms of benefits to you and the features that will render them.

cheers, TREVOR
