Hello. I have the canon rebel T7 and have the Sigma 150 to 600 lens. Can I use a lens extender?

Greetings,

An extender for the 150-600 is available.   It's called a tc-1401.  However, I doubt very seriously you will need it.  This lens mounted on your T7 will have an equivalent field of view of 240 - 960mm.  I suggest you use the lens for a bit before assuming you need an extender.  A tripod may be a good idea too.

I have the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens which is my goto super zoom. I also have the Sigma 1.4x tel-con. All I can say is it works. However that depends on what your definition of "works" is. For me it doesn't have the IQ that I want so I don't use it. You are better off cropping in post then using any tele adapter.

I use a Canon 1DX but on your Rebel T7 I don't think AF will work if you use the tel-con. If AF does happen to work it will be poorly.

Go d/l DPP4 from the Canon website it is free and crop your shots which is a way much better idea and did I mention that is free to do.

I don't have the sports lens. I do wildlife photos. Still learning all the tips. Thank you for the free suggestion about cropping

There's a chance you might be fine with the image quality from using a teleconverter. If you get a chance to try one out,do so but i'd say definitely don't buy until you try!

Yes you can.

But my usual quip is "The two happiest days in a photographers life are the day he gets his teleconverter, and the second, the day he puts it on the shelf to never use it again."

Seriously, cropping usually works out just as good as using the converter.

😂 Good one that

I couldn't have said it better. 😁

You are absolutely right, it is up to what the person using it wants out of his/her gear. For me and I dare most of the enthusiasts/pro level photographers it is not. Again that is not my place to make that decision for others.
