Canon RF 100-500mm Zoom ring malfunction

Hello Canon family,

I recently purchased brand new canon RF 100-500mm lens and in a month, zoom ring malfunctioned.

Zoom ring (to set the focal length of the lens) is stuck at 100mm and unable to rotate or do anything.

Have you ever encountered such issue?

Saurabh

Greetings,

The lens has a zoom tension ring. Are you sure that's not tightened down? Just need to ask in case you've overlooked this.

Greetings,

I would contact the place of purchase and discuss with them.  If you are outside of your return/exchange window, you need to contact Canon support.

Start by registering your lens in the your MyCanon account.

MyCanon

From there, you'll be able to initiate a repair request.  If the lens is less than a year old, it is covered under Canon's standard 1yr warranty.
