change color ink on printer, now printer will not recognize color ink. How do I reset the printer?

Hello avanell.
Please check to make sure that a new, genuine Canon cartridge has been installed to prevent any errors. The MX340 can use PG-210, PG-210XL, CL-211 and CL-211XL cartridges.
If the error still remains when a new compatible Canon brand cartridge is used, please tell us the exact error that flashes on the LED display of the printer. Also, tell us the label of the cartridge that was installed.

Hello,
I replaced the black ink cartridge yesterday morning with a PG-210XL that i purchased from Office Depot and now i am getting a "Check Ink U051" error. I have restarted the machine, unplugged it, took the ink out and put it back in, etc; however, i am still not able to get it to work. Please help!
