canon pixma mx850 printer not reading my computer - will not print
I unplugged the cord that went from the printer to the computer to another canon printer to see if I could remediate a problem with a wireless printer.
When I plugged the computer cord back into the usual computer, the printer is no longer talking to the computer even though I have gone in and changed back the settings, and it has been the default printer - that was not changed.
I've tried all the trouble-shooting suggestions to no avail.

running Windows xp
this worked fine until I unplugged the printer cable from the pixma mx850 and plugged it into the pixma mg5320. Then when I plugged it in to the pixma mx 850 the 850 no longer prints.
When I give the print command, it looks like all systems go; spools to the printer and shows up in the print queue. Then I wait. Without an error message, the print queue simply disappears and nothing prints.

Hi scheideckerj,
Reinstalling the latest drivers for the printer from the Canon USA website may resolve the issue you are experiencing. Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MX850. Once on the download page, please do the following:
1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "DRIVERS" section and click on the MP DRIVERS file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once the file is downloaded, please double-click on it to reinstall the printer drivers on your computer.
Hope this helps!
