TS8350 asking for printable disc and not printing onto paper

RichieH

I haven’t made any changes, the iPhone is running the latest software, but the printer is asking me to insert a printable disc instead of feeding paper like it usually does.

Checked within the print settings on the phone and it’s set to print on paper. This is happening with iPad and iPhone, only change I’ve made to either is the recent iOS software update.

I have exactly the same issue. Have had to give up. I have emailed Canon but no reply yet. Infuriating.

Greetings,

If you have the exact same model printer and are printing from your iPhone specifying paper as the media type, look at the paper type that is registered on the cassette or rear tray of the printer:

Canon : PIXMA Manuals : TS8300 series : Paper Settings

If your printer model, mobile hardware and conditions are not identical, please start a new thread to ensure your issue can be given the visibility and help it deserves.

Thanks, but paper type isn’t the issue. The printer isn’t offering an option to print to paper, there’s no way round the Please Insert Printable Disc. The printer, without any prompt from me, defaults to disc printing.

I’ve discovered I can print to paper via the app, but just to print out an email or PDF direct from the phone or iPad is impossible.

I have made the same discovery. It works via the Canon app but not via Airprint.
