The scan function from the control panel on the front of the printer does not work for scanning from the platen. The printer is connected to the PC via USB Cable; PC running windows 10. IJ Scan Utility shows the product name as Canon MX 920 Series.

The MX 922 is in the "920 series". Have you tried it?
