PIXMA TS6420a Support code 7500

My PIXMA ts6420a gave me support code 7700. After turning it off and unplugging for 10 minutes it is now giving support code 7500. Not sure what to do as I cannot access the printer cartridges as it stands right now.

The printer started up normally with no error code so I was able to check the ink cartridges. There seams to be a lot of black ink pooled around in the area of the printer where they rest when not on. I cleaned it up as best I could and tried to print something. It then threw up support code 7800. Turned it off and back on and now it's giving code 7700 again.

Greetings

The printer is not that old but it is out of warranty.  All of the errors you're experiencing are related to the print cartridges or printhead.  If the black ink was replaced recently it might be defective.  Are you using Canon brand inks?

Unless you're near a Canon repair facility shipping and repair could be prohibitive.  Buying a new cartridge might help if it's indeed defective.  Canon brand inks have a warranty.  Without having history it's kind of hard for us to make a determination on the best path forward.  You can throw some money at it try a new ink cartridge but if something's wrong with the printer or the printhead it might just be throwing money away.  Repair might exceed replacement value.  You would need to make that determination.

Cotton balls dipped in a little alcohol are helpful for cleaning things up.  You'll need to decide if you want to replace the cartridge, take or ship in for service or replace the device.

Unfortunately I'm not using Canon ink. I'm no where near a service option. Maybe I'll buy some new cartridges to see if that helps the issue.
