It scans, dials, connects and then goes silent; after several somber seconds, I get a line busy error. The lines are connected correctly, I have a dial tone when I hit hook, and the receiving fax is in fact not busy. It used to work perfectly and all of a sudden it has stopped. Please help!! Thanks!

Have you tried power cycling the printer?  Turn off, disconnect from power, wait a minute, reconnect, power on and retest?

I have - it was actually unplugged for a couple days while I rearranged the office. Thank you for the suggestion, though.
