Connect the printer to the chromebook with a USB cable. Chromebook recognizes that a Canon printer is connected but it cannot tell which model. The Chromebook has a list of dozens of models, but no MG2525. In fact there are no MG models listed at all. Could one of the other model numbers work?
Curious thing, the printer normally turns itself off after being idle for a few minutes, but it has remained on for the last couple of hours while I have been trying to sort this out.

Hello Pergelator,
Printing from a Chromebook requires a printer that can be connected to a wireless network. No drivers have been developed for the Chrome OS, so even if your printer is connected with a USB cable, it would be unable to communicate with your printer.

I don't think you know what you are talking about. Chromebook does work with at least some printers using a USB cable. It knows it is a Canon printer, but there are dozens of Canon models listed.

Hi Pergelator,
The PIXMA MG2525 is not supported with the Chrome operating system.
