Hello,
I am trying to print 5x7 borderless inivtations I have created in a word document.
When I convert the document to a PDF and attempt to print, the ink appears faded (black appears like a faded purple, colors not as dark).
When I printed from word, the ink was darker and appeared to be appropriate in color. However, when I printed again from word, the same issue occured the ink appeared faded.
Why is that? Do 5x7 boderless prints just print lighter for some reason?
Sometimes regular text prints in appropriate black ink. However, when i print a regular text document as a 5x7 size, the black ink is also faded. It doesnt make sense. I have cleaned the nozzle and test pages print fine? Also, in inspecting the two prints, the text in the black ink appears fuzzy, while the faded ink appears crisp.
It is a new cartridge, I had purchased from Amazon.

Hi ads_2006.
From your description, there are a few possible issues going on. When you save an image to a word file, it changes the way that the image's colors are registered. When that word file is converted to PDF, it may again change the way the colors are registered. Both times risk warping the color by changing the color space/ICC profile used to interpret it.
Beyond that, it's possible that the ink is not flowing correctly. You may verify this by performing a Nozzle Check. If the black net pattern and colored bars print out correctly, but the colors are off, try replacing the black (for the net pattern) or color (for the colored bars) ink cartridge with a compatible Canon genuine ink cartridge.
If the vertical bars of the black net pattern seem to double-print, try gently cleaning the timing strip with a few dry cotton swabs.

I performed the nozzel check and the bars were printed correctly. I even changed the ink cartridge and noticed no change.
What I have noticed, is that when I select the 5x7 Borderless print option, for either a Word document or PDF, it prints in lighter colored ink.
However, when I select the regular 5x7 print option, it prints in the correct color ink.
For some reason, whenever I select the borderless option (for any size print), it prints in a lighter shade. This is incredibly confusing.

Hello.
If you are printing in plain paper, the overall print may be lighter than normal. You would need to use photo paper for higher quality saturation of ink on the paper. If you are printing on photo paper, check to make sure that the correct media type is being specified in the print menu of your software before starting the print job.
