Keeping the MG2770 pixma printer AWAKE!!?

delmar313

Have always loved Canon printers. But this new one, the Mg2770 pixma does something that's crazy-making. You have to manually, get up and go touch the "on" button to wake it up when you want to print. UGH!! My old Canon printer just always snapped to attention and printed when you wanted it to- no matter how long it sat there.

Is there anyway to configure this printer so that it is always "awake" and doesn't need to be manually nudged awake?

Thanks in advance,

Delmar

Hi, Delmar!

Thanks for joining the Canon Community Forum.  So that the Community can help you better, we'll need to know which Canon printer model you're using. To date, Canon USA has not introduced a printer with the model number you mentioned. Could you please double-check that for us?

If this is a time-sensitive matter, search our knowledge base or contact our US-based technical support team at http://canon.us/SupportCF

Thanks and have a great day!

Sorry, it's the Mg7720.

Hi again, and thank you for your reply.

We need more information. Is the iunit connected via a network? Is it plugged into a surge protector or directly to the wall outlet? If the unit connected to a network, the port is getting pinged by one of the computers. If it is connected to a surge protector it could be getting a power surge or dip in power causing the unit not to wake up etc. I would suggest unplugging the network cable and plug directly to a wall outlet and see if it wakes up.
