I have a Pixma MG5300. The grayscale printing button is grayed-out. How do I turn it on?

Whatever I do, I can't seem to turn on grayscale printing on my MG5300 printer. Even after I navigate to the page of the print dialog where i can see the button for it, it's grayed-out (ha-ha) and won't let me check it on. I'm assuming there must be some other box checked somewhere which is preventing me from turning it on...but I haven't found what.

And the On-screen manual that came with the software has been useless to get information.

Can anyone help me? Thank you.

Hi scotswanderer,

If you do not have the grayscale printing option with the current printer driver, please go to your System Preferences, then Print and Fax and remove the listing for your printer using the minus button.  Next, click on the + button to re-add the printer, but you will want to select the Canon MG5300 series printer and not AirPrint.  Is the grayscale printing option available for selection now?
