Have an MG8120 printer that won't load paper

This MG8120 now refuses to load paper.  It makes a clunky noise like it's trying to pick up the paper, but then quits and says paper tray is empty when it's full.  Took out tray an looked at bottom of printer and nothing looks broken.  Cleaned the rubber feeder wheels, but no help.  Turning it off and on no help.  Is this thing shot?
