R3 USB-C with Camera Connect app

I noticed that the USBC connection option isn’t showing when registering the R3 with the Canon Camera Connect app on iPhone…. Is this an app error?

This thread is about the R3… your screenshots for r6 ii are irrelevant.

the screenshots i showed are on the initial setup screen… the usb options don’t magically appear, they just aren’t an option for r3, r5, and r6 on the current iPhone version. It doesn’t matter if it’s plugged in or not, the app doesn’t allow usb connections from those cameras, as I said in my original post.

if you don’t have r3, why are you replying?

You have to initiate the transfer in the camera, then go to your phone. Your manual talks about it HERE.

You have the option to import your images to the Photos app directly, OR you can use the Camera Connect app:

If you need help setting this up, support is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ET) at 800-OK-CANON (800-652-2666).

The point here is for usb connection to camera connect for a stable tethered live view.

usb connection is not an option for r3 via camera connect on iPhone even though there are other 3rd party apps that can achieve usb tethered live view.

the question is… why does the r50, with usb 2.0 have the option of usb connection to camera connect, and r3,6,5 with usb 3 do not?
