I just bought a Canon EOS T7i so I could take product pictures. I bought it specificially for the wifi feature so I could send the photos to my desktop without a cable (I am taking pictures within proximity of the computer).
Turns out, I need a subscription for the EOD Webcam Utility Pro to do that, and not only that, when I tried to sign up for the subscription, I was forced to go through several minutes of captcha (identify the bicycle, identify the traffic light, identify this bus, identify the crosswalk, ad nauseum). I eventually gave up and apparently will not be able to use this camera for its intended purpose (which was sending pictures straight to my desktop computer).
First off, whose bright idea was it to lock a $600 camera's main function behind a paywall in the first place?
Second, why so many captchas? This is infuriating as a customer.
