The location data attached to images taken with my R5 MII through the Camera Connect App (Version 3.2.30.34) is the same for every image taken during a particular session, which is the location where I first connect the camera to my phone with the Camera Connect App (iPhone 11) on a particular day. I typically walk several miles at a time while birding, and so the GPS data currently being linked to the photos is pretty much useless.
I've seen others report similar issues in the past, but haven't seen where Canon is addressing the problem. Does anyone have info on this issue?
Thank you.

No solution https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Camera-Software/WARNING-iOS-Canon-Camera-Connect-3-0-1x-puts-same...
What if you also run another GPS app simultaneously?

I’m not understanding your question. Running a gps app isn’t a precursor for Camera Connect to obtain GPS location. The app just needs location services to be turned on, which it is.

Running GPSTest in the background makes my GPS more exact because it forces full GNSS measurement, and drains more battery. That's what I meant. I have no idea if your iPhone works the same.

Got it, thank you. Sony’s version of Canon Connect works perfectly when it comes to geotagging photos, and I expected the same from Canon. It appears Canon has no intention to fix this.
