Hi I have Eos M3 and I tried to use external mic BOYA M1 but i can not seems to record my voice. do you think this mic is not comparable or do i need special setup for mic?
I tried to use earphone + mic one too but this doesn't work either...
I would like to have clip-on the microphone if its possible...
If you can help me set up tat would be really appreciated...
Thank you

I have an M3, but have never really tried to use it for any serious video. It has an external mic input, but no headphone output. So, I would not try to connect earphones or headphones to the camera because you could damage it.
I am not familiar with your microphone, but it does require an internal battery. I am sure you would need to go into the camera menus to switch the camera from using the internal microphone to an external one.

I have the same problem too!
Same Canon EOS M3. Same Boya M1.
Were you able to find the solution after all these years?
