Which Camcorder should I consider?

I have 14 grandchildren and am not too adept at this new technology, so I'm looking for something that would be good but easy.  Any thoughts?

I just pickd up a Vixia HF R300 to use for video when I don't want to take stills. There are a lot of options for video which you can check out at http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/camcorders/consumer_camcorders

Carla, the question I like to ask is what do you want to do with the footage after you record it?  e.g. store away tapes for the future? put them on a computer to share with far-away friends/family? connect the camcorder to a TV to share with friends?

Another big determinant is simply your budget.
