VIXIA HF R500 only recording one audio channel

With external or built-in mic I'm getting only one audio channel. I only hear one channel on headphones when recording and only one channel in the WaveEditor of Cyberlink. I'm not trying to record separate stereo channels but shouldn't I be getting a strong signal both left and right?

We are sorry to hear that this occurs.  We recommend trying to use a different microphone in the camera to see if the issue persists.
