Using an Intervalometer with Bracketing Exposures in the R5

I want to bracket my exposures (x7) and use either the R5 built-in intervalometer or the TC-80N3 to take multiple shots at a given interval. I have no problem bracketing (high speed mode) or using either intervalometer but when I try to bracket with either the built-in R5 intervalometer or the TC-80N3 intervalometer, the camera only takes one shot and not the 7 bracketed shots. Am I missing something or is this just not possible with the R5? I was able to do this with my previous Canon 5D Mk IV and the TC-80N3.

I have sent a request in to Canon Support but I am hoping for a quick solution (if available) since I will be using this camera and methodology to hopefully photograph the upcoming solar eclipse.  I am also open to any other solutions to achieve the same goal.  Thanks.

Robert

Set the EOS R5 drive mode to self-timer 2s/remote. You can do this by using the M-Fn button and finding the drive mode, or pressing the Q button on the camera and access the drive mode there.

I use a Vello Shutterboss II, not Canon with these settings: single shot, 2 sec delay on shutter release, M or B, and get all 7 bracketed shots. Appreciate hearing back if that works for the Canon intervalometer also, thanks.

Thanks.  I’ve read that the delay is necessary.  I think there is a way to do that with the TC-80N3.  I’ll report back tomorrow.

Red...Set the 2 sec delay in the R5, not the intervalometer.

Sorry, to finish...on the intervalometer I only set the interval (eg, I'll use either 30 sec or 1 min for eclipse, still thinking) and number of shots (set to unlimited for eclipse). Time is not set, delay is not set....camera takes care of those.

Just to be clear, are you saying to set the delay in the R5 but still use the TC-80N3 intervalometer for the interval and the number of shots?

Also, I'm not sure where to set the delay within the R5.  I just spent about 10 minutes looking through the menus and nothing popped out at me.

Set the EOS R5 drive mode to self-timer 2s/remote. You can do this by using the M-Fn button and finding the drive mode, or pressing the Q button on the camera and access the drive mode there.

I think that did it, Brian!  See if this sounds right - I set my interval and number of shots (00) in the TC-80N3 intervalometer and then set the 2-second time delay in the R5.  I have tested it and it seems to work well - all 7 bracketed shots were taken each time.  Thanks for your help.
