Canon Pixma PRO-200 - Ribbon inside has come loose

I don't suppose anywhere here can urgently help! One of the ribbons inside my Canon Pixma Pro 200 has come loose and is causing the printer to throw up an error that a foreign object is inside the printer. I'll attach photos, does anyone know where this ribbon reconnects? One end appears to be attached the back of where the cartridges sit and has the code P202 L on it? 1.jpeg2.jpeg3.jpeg

Hi,

If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

Greetings ,

Too bad this post was never replied to. It's likely the user has taken other action.

The part in question is the encoder (timing) strip.  It's possible it could be refastened where it came loose from inside the printer.  If that's broken, The cost to replace might exceed the value of the device once it's shipped to a repair facility.

Hopefully they were able to figure a solution out.
