printer ink discrepancies

Some of the inkjet printers say they use a 6 ink systerm but when you look for compatible inks it only shows cyan, magenta, yellow and black.  The description sometimes mentions gray but i dont see anywhere to buy it.  Are the 8 ink systems the same way???  What iam not understanding about this??

Hello Davebste,

Our printers that use a 6 ink tank system use the cyan, magenta, yellow, gray and two black inks; a pigment black and a dye black.  Ink tanks and other accessories for our printers can be purchased online through our Canon Direct Store at http://shop.usa.canon.com.

To locate the inks for a specific printer, you can either enter the ink tank name/product number in the Search box at the top right of the page, or enter the printer name and when the printer is displayed, click on the VIEW ACCESSORIES FOR THIS PRODUCT link that displays with the printer.

Hope this helps!
