issues scanning documents

Hi I have a Canon 118 MF8300 imageClass printer. As for the past 2 weeks I cannot connect my computer to the scanner. I have been able to print without any problems but cannot scan to my computer at all. My bosses computer is connected without any issues. I tried to unstill and install the printer but it says that Scan Gear is open and will not allow me to install the scanner option.

 

I use Windows 8 for HP PC.

So that I can better assist you, I would like to ask a few questions.

 

1.  How were the drivers and software installed onto the computer?

2.  Was the MF Toolbox program, or any other scanning program, open when you attempted to uninstall the drivers?
