Ipf605 printer gives error e161-4050 during set up, how do I get past this error

canon ipf605. setting up the plotter error code e161-4050 came up. please advise.

The error is during initial setup and is shown on the screen of the printer . I have not gotten to the step where the printer is hooked up to the computer. I am using windows xp
