Did you mean:

6D and EL-1

Hello.

I have a 6D Mark II.

I'm looking for a flash primarily for indoors but that allows high-speed shooting (this is essential).

I'm thinking about investing in the EL-1.

Is the EL-1 fully compatible with the 6D Mark II ?

Thank you.

Greetings,

Yes, compatible.  6D2 is E-TTL II autoflash (evaluative flash metering and average flash metering)

EL-1 flash supports:

Type-A EOS cameras (E-TTL II/E-TTL autoflash)

  1. External flash control
    • Flash firing, E-TTL II metering, Flash synchronization speed in Av mode, Flash mode, Radio transmission wireless functions, Optical wireless functions, Flash zoom, Shutter synchronization, Flash exposure compensation, Flash exposure bracketing and Clear settings.
  2. External flash Custom Function setting
    • The setting options for both (1) and (2) will differ depending on the Speedlite used.

The EL-1 is about as fast as you can get.  The 6D2 is an enthusiast level camera.  The flash might be overkill for most non-professional needs.

What do you mean by "high speed shooting"? High Speed Sync? The specs talk about it, so it looks like it has it. I would download the manual and check it out to be sure.
