A couple of natural light portraits from the weekend

Over the weekend I took the opportunity to work with a model friend, Emma. I've been fortunate to have worked with her many times over the last 10 years so shoots are always relaxed and invariably we create results we are both pleased with.

Camera settings - 1/125th f/2.2 ISO 640. Intentionally overexposed by 1 2/3 EV

Captured with EOS R6 Mark II fitted with RF 28-70mm F2L USM

Natural light, and some fill boards to bounce light back towards the model.

I really love how subtle to contrast is here. You even maintained some detail in the highlights too. Very impressive. They remind me of being in the darkroom with my favorite film and paper stock 😉 

Thank you for the kind words Chris. Though you can keep the darkroom and all the chemical smells, I'm rather a fan of Lightroom these days, but these didn't need much work to get the results.

Way back when I worked in a lab and you are so right. The chemical smell was not the best part of the job.
