Face Detection and Tracking is greyed out and I can't figure out how to active it. Using Canon 70 -200 2.8 & Canon 24-105 4.0 Has anyone else run into this issue?

Wao, Thanks for the fast reply and for the solution:
after the reset, the Face detection is active again.

This happened to me as well and I discovered that at some point I had assigned one of the assignable numbers to "Face AF". Without realizing I or someone else had hit that number which set AF for face detection off, and AF was greyed out.
When some reset to factory settings, this likely resolved the issue, but it really is just a matter of discovering what number has been assigned to this feature and hit the button once to get AF back!

I had a similar problem. I found that when I was shooting in a slow fast mode or 60FPS the detection was greyed out. I found the manual with my camera was not giving enough insight. I used the Advanced User Guide Manual to learn more about the robust video features it packs.
