Pixima pro 100 purge unit broken but maybe I can fix it?

I have a Pixima Pro printer that was dropped during a move and stopped working. The fault code was 6A00, and I couldn't figure it out at the time. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away, so it sat unused for about five years.

Recently, I had a need for the printer and decided to give it another try. I discovered the problem: a broken piece lodged in a roller was preventing the purge wiper from moving. I know where this piece goes, but I don't understand its relevance or whether I need it for the printer to function correctly.

If I do need this piece, does anyone know how to remove the purge unit so I can glue it back on? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!I found this picture onlineI found this picture onlineactual partactual part

Greetings,

I would try the Canon Parts Desk:

They might be able to help with the part.
