Hi Forum Folke,
Running Linux Mint -v- 20.1 (newest version) with Cinnamon desktop.
I'm trying to install the driver package (cnijfilter2_5.40-1_amd64.deb) I downloaded from Canon's driver page. The install file (install.sh) loads & runs okay, but when it gets to scanning for wireless printers, all I get is " printer not detected" and can't go any further. No amount of re-trying helps. I followed some instructions I also found on the support site, messing with the wifi settings in the printer, but the install package *still* fails to detect any printers.
The printer *does* work with the native linux "Cups" driver, but only basic functionality, none of the advanced features of this printer are available... so I'd rather use the Canon driver package, if I could get the foolish thing to detect my printer.
NO issues with the wifi setup, no problems with the printer (works fine in "native" Linux, and also in Win10 - dual-boot setup), so the issue has to lie with the installer itself.
Anyone found a fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!!
