Can't get the driver to install correctly for Canon MG2520

I got a new computer that doesn't have a CD drive. I tried to install the driver from the Canon Site, you know the basic: MG2500 series Full Driver & Software Package. It just will not finish the install. Also, the window for it doesn't show the full page of information so I can't click continue or cancel without balancing the curser at the very bottom of the window. I know something is off but I don't know what to do.

Here is what worked. It is copied and pasted from this post: https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Printer-Multifunction-Support/Pixma-MG2522-Won-t-Install/td-p/315...

"1. Disconnect the printer from your computer and turn it off.

2. Uninstall everything. Go to Printers in settings and Remove the printer. Uninstall every driver you've tried to install, any of the secondary programs, etc. Get rid of all of it.

3. Restart your computer just to make sure everything is gone.

Now we do it "right".

1. DO NOT CONNECT THE PRINTER TO THE COMPUTER.

2. Click on the install package and install the drivers and secondary programs you want.

3. ONCE the install program asks you to connect and turn it on, NOW you can connect it.

4. The install program will now work properly and you will swiftly be done with the setup process."

Greetings,

Based on your description, it sounds like you are using the printer with Windows?  What version and build?

Driver and software:

"It will not finish the install".  Unfortunately, can not and will not are not good problem descriptions.  They don't tell us what you did or what happened when you did it.  All you have said is something "won't finish"  ??

Drivers for your printer can be found here:

Support | MG Series | PIXMA MG2520 (MG2500 Series) | Canon USA

Window doesn't show full information:

Is it possible the resolution you have your display set to is too low for graphics to display properly?  Increasing the resolution might help.

You'll need to provide more details and specific information in order for us to try and help.

I'm having the same basic problem. Lenovo ideapad 3, Win 11, Downloaded lastest driver package. Tried a few times, completed the solution presented above, still gets to "Printer connection" and sits. I didn't connect it or turn it on until the install program asked for it. The lower message says "The printer is detected. Please wait until the installation is completed." I let it sit for 30 minutes. The only action is when it loses connection.

I did whole uninstall everything, etc and used a different USB cable from a working printer/computer set-up. Same result.

I had the same problem until I found out that a different Window's driver was needed.  After download and install my printer works fine.
