PowerShot A540 Maximum Memory Card Size

so i put in a 16gb sd card and it memory error, what is the max i can put, is it 1gb or 2gb?
can someone please send link of a cheap sd card canon power a540 can handle please

The Powershot A540 User Manual only mentions the following cards:

• SDC-16M
• SDC-128M
• SDC-512MSH

Unfortunately, authorized Canon resellers such as B&H most likely do not carry these cards anymore (B&H doesn't and my guess is others also won't).

While I don't recommend purchasing memory cards at all from Amazon, you may have to purchase the above cards from them.
