imageCLASS MF743Cdw Mac Cannot Find Scanner

This is a new installation on a Mac PowerBook Pro with M1 chip.

OS version is Ventura 13.1

Downloaded lastest drivers and utilities from Cannon:

  • mac-scan-v21511-00.dmg
  • mac-UFRII-LIPSLX-v101913-10.dmg

Installed drivers and set up all-in-one to work wirelessly.

Adding a printer/scanner from System Preferences / Printers & Scanners results in

  • Canon MF741C/MF743C printer (works)
  • Canon MF741C/MF743C fax (probably works, I don't  have a phone line
  • nothing for a scanner.

I go to MF Toolbox:

  • No scanner appears
  • Clicking on Network Scanner Settings and Adding a Scanner results in
  • Bonjour shows no scanners
  • Adding scanner in IP address mode results in: The specified scanner is not supported.

Rebooted both laptop and MF743Cdw.  Repeated installation.  Same results

Greetings,

What driver appears for the Printer in its properties?

If Bonjour or AirPrint, the scanner will not appear.

I had the very same issue, and it was driving me crazy! I installed, deleted and reinstalled so many times. I finally deleted the printer from the Printers and Scanners page under settings. I then clicked Add Printer. Selected the same printer THEN I check "Share This Printer on the Network" and everything started working again. Hope this helps.
