I have an MF642CDW https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/color-imageclass-mf642cdw?srsltid=AfmBOoo95ah0tB5x5_AQc9kgLDPalI...
The printer used to work fine for printing, scanning etc but after I switched my ISP it stopped being able to scan or print wirelessly.
I tried a bunch of things but it didn't work and at one point a firmware update came on and I thought maybe it could fix the problem but it didn't. I have since factory reset it but the problem still persisted. I tried this guide and it also didn't work.
I tried switching to non-Gmail services like Outlook and Yahoo but its still the same problem. Error 801 on Port 587 and Error 752 on Port 465.
Any ideas what could help me resolve the issue? What are my next steps?
PS. I'm not too tech savvy so please try and explain it very simply for me. Thank you. ❤️

Greetings ,
I want to make sure that I understand your issue(s). When you say you can't print or scan that suggests that a print job or scan operation initiated from a computer or mobile device does not complete.
Your post goes on to describe a failure to scan the email. Can you confirm what it is you're trying to solve for us please?
If you need help with scan to email configuration, I need to know who the mail provider is. It appears to be Gmail, which I use as well. You'll need to create an app password in your Google account for the scanner since MF series printers do not support modern authentication.
If you're not able to print or scan from your computer, I need to know the version and build of your operating system and the connection method which I believe is wireless?
I can provide some helpful information and next steps once you answer the questions above.
🙂
