MF656Cdw How to Scan Color to PDF

Kazatel24

The MF656Cdw scans B&W to a PDF just fine, but selecting color separates each page into a separate .PNG file.  Where are the settings to select output type for color scans?  How to get PDF when scanning in color?

Using Windows 11

Greetings,

You have the option to set the file type in different places depending on where you are scanning from.

In the Remote UI under > Settings/Registration: Function Settings: TX Settings  > Scan and Send Settings

You can also change the file type for Color Scans in the MF Scan Utility (Computer).  Note: if you press the Defaults button, settings are restored.

If Scanning from the LCD Panel, Select Send Settings > File Format from the Scan Dialog.  This allows several options such as PDF, JPG or TIFF.

In this last example, you can select the behavior when scanning from the Printers LCD.  Select the Scanner icon, note you are scanning in color, and select the desired file type to save in.  There is also an option for a single file for multiple pages or divide into single page files.

Scanning from the printer to the pc.  I guess I use the software installed on the printer.  I do have Remote UI set up, but there are no scan options available there.

Thank you!

This is where the problem was: It had jpeg selected for color when scanning usind the printer's LCD.  There was no other way to switch this than using the MF Scan Utility.

In this last example, you can select the behavior when scanning from the Printers LCD.  Select the Scanner icon, note you are scanning in color, and select the desired file type to save in.  There is also an option for a single file for multiple pages or divide into single page files.
