Canon imageCLASS MF264dw II printer/scanner has trouble with Excel Grid lines

jazzwineman

We have been having a problem with the scanner part, scanning the grid lines and fields of an Excel 365 spreadsheet to a PDF file. The spreadsheet prints fine, as does everything else.. A scan of anything that does not have grid lines is fine.

The device is fairly new (4 months) and we just changed cartridges as well. It originally did semi-fine at 150 DPI (the first image below as it now prints) and now even at 600 DPI (the second image) is does only slightly better. It makes no difference whether a singe scan from the glass or using the ADF. This is scanning from the Scanner to email as a PDF and  have tried color, grayscale,  black and white settings.

This is on a Win 10 machine with all the latest updates and the most updated drivers for the Printer.scanner.

Any ideas as to causes and/or solutions?

Thanks

Hello,

The issue looks like it could be a problem with the new toner or some settings need to be adjusted.

I would first suggest removing the toner and gently shaking the cartridge to make sure that the toner is evenly distributed. If you continue to have issues after reloading the toner, you can try selecting one of the special processing modes modes using the steps in the link HERE. If selecting one of the special processing modes does not resolve the issue, you can also try replacing the toner cartridge.

You can also contact support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to assist and can provide any service options if needed.
