I have a Canon EOS R50, and I'm trying to use it with a Tokina 400mm F8 Reflex MF lens.
The lens is manual focus only, and does not have an AF/MF switch.
If I mount the lens, and try to use it, the shutter does not trigger. I'm assuming that this is because the camera is set to AF, and it cannot AF.
So I've tried setting the camera to MF. The instructions I've seen online tell me that there the AF menu 1 should have a "Focus Mode" setting. That setting is not there.
I've reset the camera to factory settings, and it's still not there.
Without the setting I cannot switch to manual focus, and without manual focus I cannot use the lens.
Ideas?

You may need to tell the camera to take photos without a lens attached.
Go to the custom functions menu C.Fn-3 and then change the Release shutter w/o lens settings to On: Enabled.

That was the problem.
Thanks.
