Did you mean:

Error 99

Sad to say, I'm working with what's probably a 10-year old Canon 10D, and I've just gotten the Error 99 message every time I try to take a shot. The only fix in the manual is to take out and re-insert the battery. Doesn't work. Is there any fix for this? Thank you!

99 means there is a problem and the camera doesn't know what it is.

Did you try a different lens? It could be the lens contacts.

What body do you have?

OMG, you have saved the day! The depression of being a photographer with no camera has lifted. I tried another lens and the camera worked. I then thoroughly cleaned the connectors (?) in the offending lens and it too worked. So, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I'm most grateful!

"I'm most grateful!"

And you are most welcome.

All the best.
